Description:

Green crabs are an environmentally dangerous, highly invasive species that have been collected on the coast, and as near as Victoria, B.C.

Beach Watchers volunteers on Camano Island maintain several traps in the waters along their beaches, to test for the presence of Green Crabs. (None have been found so far in this sampling area ) This project is a partnership with Nahkeeta Northwest, the monitoring contractor for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Volunteer Oppportunities:

Additional trapping would be helpful.
