Difficulty can range from 0 to 100. Each question answered correctly increases the difficulty; the first wrong guess on any question will decrease the difficulty.

• At low difficulty, you will be asked about common names, and what groups a 'critter' belongs to. Questions will sometimes show you a picture and ask for the name, and sometimes in reverse.

• As difficulty increases, you will more often be shown a picture, and asked for the name, as that is what will happen at the beach.

• When difficulty reaches 40, you will start seeing scientific names being shown as well, and starting about 50, questions will increasingly focus on scientific names.
